SUTHERLAND Shire Brass is promising some "special surprises" at the next concert planned in its 2012 shire concert series.

The August 26 concert has been named Happy and Glorious, possibly in honour of British music and, perhaps, the London Olympics.

Think of one of those televised Proms Nights from the Albert Hall in London and prospective audience members may get a glimpse of what will be in store at Sutherland Entertainment Centre.

There will be traditional tunes and stirring renditions from Old England — and some Australian classics too.

The audience will be invited to dress up for the occasion and bring flags to wave while singing some of those patriotic tunes.

The concert will feature a special performance from Sutherland Shire Children's Choir.

Details: 2pm, Sunday, August 26; Tickets: $22, $17; children under 12 free,
