Police have charged a Kurnell man who allegedly fired shots at officers during a siege on Thursday.
The man, 53, suffered gunshot wounds after exchanging fire with officers and was taken later that day to St George Hospital for treatment for injuries to his hands and shoulder.
Police charged him at his bedside yesterday and he was refused bail to appear in Central Local Court on Thursday, August 23.
He will face charges of using a firearm in a public place, using an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence, discharging a firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and breaching an AVO.
A police Critical Incident Investigation Team will also investigate the incident.
