RENE Farrell carried the flag for local cricket when she played for the Australian women's team against the West Indies on Tuesday at Hurstville Oval.

Farrell, 27, of Riverwood, is a home-grown talent who is a proud member of the Southern Stars.
Farrell played club cricket with St George-Sutherland Women's Club.
She spent time playing in Western Australia and has now returned to her home state.
"It's a great to be playing a one-day international at Hurstville Oval," Farrell said before the game on Tuesday.
The all-rounder took 1-42 from her seven overs in Australia's three-wicket victory. They scored 7-241 in reply to the visitors' total of 8-240.
St George Cricket Club president Kevin Greene said Hurstville Oval was a terrific venue for all games.
The second of the four internationals in the women's series starts at 10.30am today.
