The Drop (MA): A  bartender (Tom Hardy) caught up in a scheme of supplying cash to local gangsters finds himself at the centre of a robbery gone awry and entwined in an investigation that digs deep into the neighbourhood's past.

Let's Be Cops (MA): When two best friends (Damon Wayans jnr, Jake Johnson) dress as police officers for a costume party, they soon find themselves tangled up in the real life world of crime, mobsters and dirty cops.

My Old Lady (M):. A down-on-his-luck New Yorker (Kevin Kline) finds the Parisian apartment he has inherited comes with an unexpected resident – a refined and spirited old lady (Maggie Smith) who won't budge.

SCANDALOUS BOY

8pm: Scandalous Boy by writer-director David Atfield tells a story of sex, love and political intrigue. This premiere production tells the story of Antonous, the young lover of the Roman emperor Hadrian, who became famous in his short life and in death was proclaimed a deity. SCALE MODELLING

10.30am: The CT Scale Modellers' Society "Scale ACT '14" scale modelling competition and display is on until tomorrow from 10.30am to 3.30pm. MOOCHERS INC.

2pm: Canberra band Moochers Inc. is launching its debut EP at a free event in Glebe Park  before they hit the road to perform at one of Australia's largest music festivals, Woodford Folk Festival. Moochers Inc. has been performing its brand of 1920s New Orleans-inspired jazz throughout Canberra and surrounding regions over the past three years,. POLIFEMY

1pm: The women's vocal ensemble Polifemy will be performing a concert at the High Court of Australia. Polifemy's director Robyn Mellor has put together a program  of Renaissance music illustrating the theme of love in both its sacred and profane dress. MANON

1pm:  A young girl desires love but is corrupted by wealth in Kenneth MacMillan's erotically charged ballet Manon. First performed in 1974 and celebrating its 40th anniversary, Manon is a staple of the Royal Ballet. This performance will be captured live at Convent Garden. BOWIE ON SHOW

1.15pm: David Bowie is a documentary about the  exhibition created by the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.  The film takes the audience on an extraordinary journey through the  exhibition with special guests including Japanese fashion designer Kansai Yamamoto, Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker, and other collaborators, to explore the stories behind some of the key objects that document Bowie's artistic career. VOICE AND GUITAR

3pm: Art Song Canberra's next concert, Dedications - New Works for Voice, Guitar and the World, is on in the Wesley Music Centre, 20 National Circuit, Forrest. It will be given by Bruce Cain (baritone) and David Asbury (guitar), visiting from the US. The program is mostly new works for voice and guitar, many with environmentally themed texts. Admission, including program and light refreshments is $25-$35. Tickets at the door.
