LOFTUS Yarrawarrah Rovers over-30s women's football team could not have wished for a better year.
They were minor premiers in their Sutherland Shire Football Association competition this season, qualifying them for the Football NSW Champion of Champions.
In the recent champion of champions final, Loftus Yarrawarra Rovers thrashed Harbord Seaside United, 6-0.
Rovers star Hannah Burton got four goals in the emphatic victory.
"The majority of this team have been playing soccer together for many years, some for 30 years," Loftus Yarrawarrah team member Cassandra Shearer said.
"This is the third champion of champions title for 11 players in the team, who previously played for North Sutherland Rockets.
"Considering the first of these titles was in 2007, then again in 2010 and now 2014, this is a big achievement.
"It is made so much more special that the girls are all great friends both on and off the field, the new players that have joined the team have fitted in beautifully."
