GYMNASTICS talent Mia Dobija of South Hurstville is right in contention for a Leader Sportstar award.
Mia, 8, who trains at the Australian Academy of Gymnastics, won three gold medals and a bronze medal at the recent regional titles: beam, bar and floor routines (gold) and vault (bronze).
The youngster set herself a goal to do well.
"I just want to bring home a trophy," said Mia, a year 3 pupil at St Gabriel's Catholic Primary School, Bexley.
She started gymnastics when she was three-and-a-half.
Her parents, Adrian and Amy, said their daughter worked very hard in training and had a positive attitude.
Nominations for the categories are Senior Sportstar of the Year, Junior Sportstar of the Year, athletes with a disability, masters, junior team, all-schools team, senior team and local sports club.
