THE 2015 Australian Weather Calendar features amazing photos of weather patterns and unusual weather phenomenon.
Published by the Bureau of Meteorology and the Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society, the calendar has information on the importance of environmental data for Australian businesses.
The featured photos were by the winners of the Capture the Weather photographic competition.
Robert Kershaw, who has been a member of the bureau's judging panel for several years, said 800 entries were received this year and judges looked for a variety of things, including "state representation, meteorological phenomenon, interest and quality of picture".
"We are trying to balance many factors," he said. "You don't want a calendar of 12 lightning strikes around the country."
Mr Kershaw said this was the first year the panel received an iPhone photo.
All photos were scrutinised for any sort of manipulation such as Photoshop, he said.
