Passengers travelling on the T4 Eastern Suburbs and Illawarra Line and South Coast Line should allow for additional travel time after earlier signal repairs at Sutherland.
Passengers should listen to station announcements and check indicator boards.
So far the NSW SES has received over 93 jobs across the state with the majority in Western Sydney.
An SES spokesman said they had received seven calls for help in St George and Sutherland Shire this afternoon as a stormfront swept through Sydney.
They were mostly for fallen trees and roof damage. Crews remain on standby.
Ausgrid emergency crews are working to get power back to about 7000 homes across the network including Bexley and Lugarno.
There is flooding in parts of southern Sydney including Alfords Point:
Weatherzone reported severe storms and winds for Sydney and the Illawarra and hail in some areas.
The State Emergency Service advised people to:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony.
* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
* Unplug computers and appliances.
* Avoid using the phone during the storm.
* Stay indoors away from windows, and keep children and pets indoors as well.
* For emergency help in floods and storms, ring the SES [NSW and ACT] on 132 500.

RFS and Fire & Rescue NSW crews responded to four false alarms of bushfires at Bundeena, Oyster Bay and Kurnell.
Temperatures will reach 30 degrees today in some areas of Sydney; 28 degrees at Lucas Heights and Sydney Airport.
