Cronulla coach Shane ‘‘Flano’’ Flanagan says Paul Gallen will be the Sharks captain for 2015.
The Sharks coach had sought counsel from one of Australia’s highest-ranked military figures to assist in the club’s leadership structure.

Flanagan said he was about to implement a tiered-leadership structure from “first grade down to the under-16s”.
“I’ve had a few meetings with him and have been mentored by him in relation to leadership,” Flanagan said.
“We have plenty of leaders in our club and we have to identify what different qualities they have.
Gallen, Wade Graham, Nathan Gardner and Anthony Tupou trained with the Sharks today after they had completed their three-month ASADA ban for the supplements program at Cronulla in 2011.
Flanagan brought an abrupt end to his media conference at Shark Park when he was asked whether he needed to apologise for the club's peptide use.
The Sharks coach, who was banned for more than a year by the NRL for his role in the peptide program, said his players carried mental scars from the fallout before he was asked whether he was sorry his players were injected with illegal substances in 2011.

Flanagan told the Leader there was a ‘‘good vibe’’ and ‘‘positive feeling’’ among the squad members.
New recruits Michael Ennis and Mitch Brown from Canterbury trained for the first time with the Sharks today on the training field next to Remondis Stadium, Woolooware.
New signing Gerard Beale from St George Illawarra, has been given an extra break after playing for New Zealand in the recent Four Nations series win over Australia.
