He has recovered from his calf leg muscle and ankle injuries to show good form for NSW and Australia in the one-day games.
Batsman Steve Smith was in hot form in Australia's 4-1 one-day series win over South Africa.
Smith scored 254 runs, averaging better than 84.
Hazlewood has been 12th man for Australia before but is yet to make his Test debut.
Cricket Australia named the squad yesterday for the opening Test in Brisbane.
Hazlewood and Test incumbent Peter Siddle are vying for the final fast bowling spot.
Will Josh Hazlewood get to make his test debut against India on December 4?
