Sutherland Cricket Club Test batsman Steve Smith is out of the Sheffield Shield match for NSW against South Australia starting today at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
The right-hander, who has a slight quadricep strain, was ruled out of the match yesterday by the NSW team medical staff.
Smith injured his quadricep in Australia’s limited overs win over South Africa on Sunday at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
He is expected to be fit for the opening match of the four-match Test series against India starting on December 4 in Brisbane.
