THE kids of International Community
Fellowship Hurstville have been rehearsing for weeks.
Hurstville City Carols on December 6 is their big day, when they will present the Nativity story on stage and sing those special Christmas carols.
The annual event, in its 14th year, starts with a family festival at 4pm and ends with a Carols by Candlelight, starting at 7pm.
International Community Fellowship pastor and event co-ordinator, Winston Gauder, said the food stalls, puppet shows, crafts, and games were big attractions for the families who returned each year, even when they had moved out of the area.
The carols section will include bands, singers, choirs, puppeteers and a Nativity drama along with special guests: soloist Olivia Shaw, from Wesley Institute of Music and a trio from Danebank School.
Mr Gauder said the fellowship drew on many local volunteers to make the event a celebration for the family.
"By focusing on the first Christmas with Mary, Joseph, Jesus, shepherds and kings, we celebrate that Jesus is the reason for the season and invite the whole community to catch the spirit and come to the party," he said.
The event is at Woodville Park, Hurstville.
