South Cronulla beach was the venue for the first leg of the SLAM volleyball festival on Saturday December 6.
The Cronulla tournament once again served up a full day of beach-party fun, filled with social volleyball, prizes, crazy costumes and live music.
High temperatures and sunny skies attracted both social and competitive players to the Cronulla sands with the day’s competition narrowly making it in before the afternoon’s thunder and lightning cooled things off.
This year the competition was split into two divisions: competitive fours and social sixers, with a total of 84 teams entered across both.
With team spots all sold out on the Friday before the tournament, a social court was set up on the day for those who missed out on registration or just wanted to have a hit and soak up the festival atmosphere.
How good is it see to the Shire beaches host the SLAM tournament for a successive year?
