A SUTHERLAND coffee shop has raised close to $20,000 during the past four years for the Prostate Cancer Institute at St George Cancer Care Centre.
White Horse Coffee staff donated their tips from November to benefit prostate cancer sufferers treated at the St George Hospital clinic.
The team raised more than $5000 last year.
The store is owned by Matty "Ristretto" Sprem and former Australian barista champion Dominic "Domtron" Majdandzic.
"We wanted to raise people's awareness and some customers will tell us they've had prostate cancer," Mr Majdandzic said.
The Prostate Cancer Institute was initiated by Professor John Kearsley in 2003 and provides many treatment options.
It was built as a result of community fund-raising and treats more than 400 men a year. More than 50,000 visits are clocked annually.
Prostate Cancer Institute fund-raising committee chairman Warren O'Rourke said the type of support the White Horse Coffee team offered would allow them to further their work.
Past improvements included an area for clinical trials.
"Our next big project will be the expansion of the centre to make way for extensive improvements planned for the chemotherapy area," Mr O'Rourke said.
White Horse Coffee is in Flora Street, near Sutherland railway station.
