Georges River St George District Cricket Association under-14 representative team play Hawkesbury in the Moore Shield team final at 9.30am on Sunday, December 14 at Olds Park, Penshurst.
The competition involves association teams from all over Sydney, Newcastle, Illawarra and the ACT.
For more than 50 years it has unearthed top players such as current Australian Test skipper Michael Clarke, former captain Steve Waugh, his brother Mark Waugh, Dave Warner, Steve Smith and Doug Bollinger.
The Moore Shield team coach, former NSW premier Morris Iemma, said the boys have performed well to reach the decider.
In Sunday's semi-final at Olds Park, Penshurst, they defeated North Shore in dramatic circumstances.
They made just 9-106 in 50 overs on a dampish pitch and wet outfield.
After being 1-46 and with North Shore cruising to victory, they lost nine wickets for 30 runs and dismissed for 76.
"It was a remarkable come from behind win, the boys fought really hard and never gave up," proud coach Morris Iemma said.
"So far the team is undefeated winning all five matches in their pool."
Iemma said it's been almost 20 years since the GRSDCA Moore Shield team won the competition.
St George Cricket Club president Kevin Greene said the team has done well and he and all the cricket community wished the team well in Sunday's final.
