Dogs 'under control'
I think Alison Clark (Your View, December 9) has missed one important requirement of all dogs in public places.
All dogs are to be under the "effective control" of a competent person at all times. Therefore if off-lead your dog(s) should respond to your call/direction at all times.
This is for the safety of all dogs, humans and the park environs.
If Alison's dogs are not responsive to her direction or she chooses not to exert that control then leash-free parks are probably not for her or her dogs.
