SERVE up some school holiday fun with Velox Tennis.
Head coach Ryan Hanrahan said any children interested in learning to play tennis were welcome to attend one of two four-day camps planned for January.
"It's a fun-filled atmosphere and the camps provide a great opportunity to learn and play tennis," he said.
The camps will be held at the Velox Tennis site, Rawson Avenue, Sutherland, from Monday, January 5 to Thursday, January 8 and then again from Monday, January 12 to Thursday, January 15.
Mr Hanrahan said they would also hold a tennis camp at the Knox City Tennis Club in Melbourne for intermediate to advanced players with a special guest appearance from professional trainer Allistair McCaw.
"There will also be a couple of open days where kids and adults can come down and try out tennis for free with dates to be advised," he said.
"These will most likely be at the start and around the end of January."
Mr Hanrahan said Velox Tennis was a sporting club that put emphasis on building a strong, healthy and happy community.
"We love to see more people playing tennis and our goal is to encourage as many people as possible.
"Tennis is a social sport you can play almost anywhere in the world and at any age.
"The great thing about it is that you only need one other person to play it with and playing creates an opportunity to talk, socialise and bond."
Mr Hanrahan said the camps were a good place to meet new people and socialise — "whether you are a kid starting school right up to an adult wanting to try a new challenge", he said.
