SANTA will use a different mode of transport to visit children in the area this month — swapping his sleigh for a fire truck.
He will join 11 NSW Rural Fire Service brigades in the area as part of the annual Santa Run.
The run began earlier this month and will continue up to Christmas Day when Santa and the Woronora Bushfire Brigade take to the water in their fire boat.
Grays Point brigade will take part again this year — marking 30 years since it first became involved.
Santa will join brigade members as they visit families in Grays Point and Kirrawee.
It's a long-held tradition for many children in the area, with some of the firefighters holding fond memories of the visits when they were kids.
Sutherland Shire Rural Fire Service Inspector Scott Deller said the run was something everyone could enjoy.
"I think it's great for the children and the big kids as well. It really puts a smile on everyone's faces," he said.
"The members get a lot out of it as well. It's an opportunity to give back to the community.
"Some can even remember it from when they were kids."
People can find their Santa run routes by visiting the Facebook page of the brigade in their area.
