Oatley Bowling club
I can share Anne Wagstaff's frustration at Hurstville Council's secretive treatment of the Oatley Bowling Club site (Your View, December 4).
Despite council's attempts to separate it from the original bushland area under its plan of management, the club site actually forms a large part of Myles Dunphy Reserve.
Since July I have asked council several times to explain why it is contravening the Office of Local Government's guidelines by excluding the public from discussions and why it refers to the site as simply "River Road, Oatley" in its meeting minutes. No mention of the fact they are even dealing with the reserve and club site.
As my attempts have been fruitless, could I suggest candidates for the upcoming state election announce their position on this environmentally sensitive area as soon as possible?
