Alice-Miranda Shines Bright (Jacqueline Harvey) is the latest in a series on a girl detective who lives for adventure and uncovering clues. With her friend Millie, she needs to keep her latest discovery a secret. Random House, $15.99.
A Chick’n’Pug Christmas (Jennifer Sattler) is the latest book about these unlikely buddies. A cute story for children aged 2-6. Bloomsbury, $19.99.
Sydney Beaches — A History (Caroline Ford) covers the local beaches as well as those all the way up to Barrenjoey. A perfect read for the beach baby in your life. New South Books, $39.95.
