FRIDAY:
Josh Hazlewood, the towering St George Cricket Club fast bowler, became the 33rd Australian to take five wickets or more on debut for Australia when he routed India in the second Test at the Gabba in Brisbane.
Hazlewood took 5-68 in a stunning debut for the right-arm speedster.
He became the 16th debutant to take five or more wickets in their first innings with the ball, emulating the deeds of Dennis Lillee, Brett Lee and Graham McKenzie.
Fellow Australian young guns James Pattinson and Pat Cummins achieved the feat in 2011.
India made 408 in their first innings with Australia 4-221 at stumps after the second day’s play.
Sutherland batsman Shane Watson was out for 25 in the first innings and newly appointed national Test skipper, and Sutherland teammate, Steve Smith is unbeaten on 65.
Can Steve Smith crack another Test century against India in Brisbane?
