As a resident of Kareela, I am frustrated by the large empty buses passing through my suburb.
In many other parts of the world, a minibus is used for residential areas, and I believe that the same approach should be adopted by Sutherland Shire Council for a number of reasons.
Safety: there are many children playing in these areas and a large bus cannot brake in time if it needs to stop suddenly.
Congestion: the roads in these suburbs are clearly not designed for buses.
Noise pollution: large empty buses make a lot of noise in these quiet areas, starting at about 6am.
Environmental impact: toxic exhaust fumes from the large empty buses.
