Heron Island, on the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef, is home and sanctuary for the giant Loggerhead and Green Sea Turtles.
They make their way up the island's beach two to three times during the season, which runs until around March each year.
There, they lay on average 120 eggs in each clutch.
