IT WAS a pretty rough year for the Sharks so Chris Lane was thrilled to capture one of the rare happy moments (above) for the players and fans.
But it was the opportunity to snap international model Cheyenne Tozzi (the face of the Westfield Miranda expansion, that really made Lane’s year. ‘‘To have the chance to photograph such a high-profile model in our home town was a privilege for myself and our newspaper,’’ he said.
Lane was pleased to get another chance to promote Cronulla’s Beachfest after the previous year’s event was rained out.
But one of his biggest thrills was taking this portrait of world champion boxer Sakio Bika, who lives and trains in the area. ‘‘It’s not every day you get to photograph a world champion boxer. But having Sakio Bika live and train in the area allows that experience. For someone as tough and as dangerous as Sakio is, he is a true gentleman and a great ambassador for the sport.’’
