SANS Souci Library reopened on December 22 more than six months after it closed for renovations.
Rockdale mayor Shane O’Brien unveiled a plaque to commemorate the opening at a morning tea.
“I am pleased we were able to reopen the library on time, and I am sure residents will appreciate the extra space and facilities,” he said.
The library has a large multipurpose activity room and a disability-access toilet with nappy change facilities.
There is new carpet, shelving, furniture, airconditioning and an outdoor paved area.
The renovation was the first for the library since it opened in 1973.
