AT 25, Davo Hardy is unfazed about making his first feature-length film.
Ultimately, it probably would end up being two hours long, said the Jannali writer-director.
Its content reflects what is going on around him.
"A lot of people who I've grown up with are getting married or having children, and I'm looking at older people and their experiences, looking back a few years and going into the future," Hardy said.
The result is the Lives We Lead, a story of four young people — two feuding sisters and the men they love.
The film looks at the expectations and limitations placed upon the four people in childhood, manifesting and shaping their day-to-day lives in adulthood
"The story follows the entire arc of their lives, and we look at their legacy," Hardy said.
Much of the filming is being done at Brighton-Le-Sands and Jannali.
Hardy's aim is to make it to the Sydney Film Festival and to become a full-time screen writer-director.
At present he works as a life model, having attended the Australian Film, Television and Radio School when he was 18.
A previous shorter film of his called Complex deals with the subject of "social nudists" — about 30 or 40 people who are comfortable about nudity, and one who is not.
