Re "Beach shame" (Your View, January 8).
I strongly agree with Ray's comment. I walk or cycle along the foreshore most days. There are garbage bins provided at regular intervals but people still throw their garbage on the sand or the foreshore area.
There are shopping trolleys scattered around the area; people are too lazy to take them back to where they got them from.
This area is free for everyone to use, the least we can do is keep it clean and tidy.
Don't these people realise that a lot of that rubbish ends up in the ocean and kills our sea life and birds?
It's disgraceful and something needs to be done about it or our beautiful foreshore is going to be destroyed and overrun with vermin.
