BEST friends since they were bubs, these two little chaps are about to embark on perhaps the biggest day of their schooling life.
It’s kindy countdown time for Oliver Johnson and Archie Payne, who play in the same soccer team at Georges River club, and now they will be classmates at St Joseph’s Primary School, Como.
Archie’s mum, Bernadette, of Jannali, said he was ready to learn.
‘‘He wants to be grown up like the big kids,’’ he said.
‘‘It’s also great that he will have his older brother Harry there in year 2, so that helps him become familiar with things.’’
Oliver’s mother, Emma, of Como, said he was excited.
‘‘He likes to copy his sister Lily when she does homework,’’ she said.
‘‘It’s not as daunting for us parents sending them off to school when they have siblings there.
‘‘But you never know if there will be tears on the day — not from him, more from me!’’
The school launches its main new uniform this year; the first change of the summer uniform in 60 years.
Term one starts Tuesday, January 27.
