ALL roads tend to lead to Carss Bush Park on the shores of beautiful Kogarah Bay to what is considered one of the biggest Australia Day celebrations in the state.
The park becomes a huge fairground with all kinds of food and amusements, but also allows families to enjoy the water and the bush.
"Every year on January 26 the nation stops to celebrate what it means to be an Australian," Kogarah mayor Michael Platt said.
"Australia Day at Carss Bush Park has become an annual milestone for our local community and is a wonderful opportunity for family and friends to gather in celebration of being an Australian."
Entertainment for the whole family will feature on centre stage and throughout the park from 10am.
Highlights of the entertainment program include performances by bands Party Agents and Hot Potato, Lazy Town and Little Charlie Bear family shows, with old favourites Yau Kung Mun Martial Arts Association performing the lion dance.
There will be various stalls, street food and a range of activities throughout the day.
The celebrations will end at 9pm with a spectacular fireworks display in the skies over the bay.
Kogarah's Australia Day ambassador, singer and entertainer Deni Hines, will take part in the official ceremony, which will include a citizenship ceremony and the Local Citizen of the Year award.
