AT 10 years old, Claire Oberdorfer has not only co-written a play but is now one of its three stars.
The Wolli Creek girl plays the part of Kate.
She was one of a trio of children who wrote Selling Mars, in which the actors examine just how far they would go to acquire the "red planet".
They wrote the play together at a scriptwriting workshop in term three last year.
Although she doesn't yet know what she wants to do as an adult, Claire is already busy.
"My mother [Cemi] teaches me Mandarin singing and I'm in the Australian Youth Choir, and I do public speaking," she said.
She met her co-stars at the Sydney Story Factory: Jarrah Russel who plays George, and Luka Anderson who plays Meerkat.
Claire has been writing in various genres for about 2½ years and Jarrah and Luka have done so for about a year — all with Sydney Story Factory @the Martian Embassy, Redfern.
Selling Mars is part of the Wild Cards series of the Short + Sweet festival on January 24-26 at New Theatre, Newtown; details: 9519 3403.
