SUTHERLAND first grade cricket team host Sydney University in the one-day game on Saturday at Glenn McGrath Oval, Caringbah.
Sixth on 30 premiership points, the big achievers of competition were beaten by Easts on Saturday at Waverley Oval.
Easts scored 1-152 chasing down Sutherland's 151. Mitch Brown made 53 for Sutherland and Adam Whatley 28.
In second grade, Sutherland made 7-263, with Lachlan Maddinson top-scoring on 90.
Shayne Smith made an undefeated 58, Joel Burnett 32, Ryan Almond 28 and Mark Anderson 26 to pass Easts' 262.
Trent Smith took 3-29, Shayne Smith 3-50 and Tom Pinson 2-35.
Sutherland were defeated in third grade, making 85, with Josh Horner scoring 24. Easts reached their target with seven wickets in hand.
In fourth grade, Easts scored 1-105 and Sutherland's Angus Fallins took 3-25, defeating Sutherland 104, with Matt Wright making 20.
In fifth grade, Easts scored 8-205 and Ryan Thomson took 2-9, Pat Driscoll finished with 2-40 beat Sutherland 9-144, with Mitchell Johnson making 29, Steve Kourouche 22 and Will Vandermaal 21.
ST GEORGE first grade were beaten by Blacktown on Saturday at Joe McAleer Oval, Glendenning. Blacktown reached 7-322 in their 50 overs, Saints 13th in the competition on 19 points, made 270.
Opener Stewart McCabe made a duck. The team needs the left-hander to set the tone at the top of the innings in the next few rounds. He has scored 456 runs this summer across all formats of the game, averaging 30.8.
When in top form, McCabe is a dynamic sight with his powerful cut and pull shots.
Saints lost in second, third and fourth grade games against Blacktown but were victorious in fifth grade.
Veteran Warwick Hayes made 56 in the team's winning total of 8-201. They dismissed Blacktown for 187.
St George will play Sydney in a one-dayer starting at 10am on Saturday at Drummoyne Oval.
