Newcastle Herald, January 14, had a letter to the editor headed “The voters will ‘reward’ Gladys’’ . It continued that in order to avoid the legislation of the Transport Administration Act section 99A, which prevents the closure of a rail line without an Act of Parliament, Gladys Berejiklian has used the ‘‘device’’ of transferring ownership from Railcorp to the very body at the centre of the whole issue, HDC, which initiated the cutting of the rail line.
