A NSW Police helicopter rescued two bushwalkers who had got lost in the Royal National Park near Heathcote yesterday.
The man and woman contacted emergency services at 4pm after they lost their way when they wandered off a track.
They were winched to safety and taken to a nearby oval where they were met by Sutherland police.
Police are reminding to people to ‘‘Think before you Trek’’ whenever they set off on a bush walk.
T - Take adequate supplies of food, water, navigation and first aid equipment.
R - Register your planned route and tell friends and family when you expect to return.
E - Emergency beacons are available free from NSW Police Force and the National Parks and Wildlife Service.
K - Keep to your planned route and follow the map and walking trails.
