SUTHERLAND Shire Council needs three people to join its Significant Parks and Landmarks Committee.
The committee was formed early last year to provide a united approach to planning and development of the shire's parks and landscapes including the E. G. Waterhouse National Camellia Gardens.
The new committee replaced the camellia gardens committee and has already adopted a master plan for the gardens and a management plan for the Joseph Banks Native Plants Reserve.
Field hire fees
PROPOSED hire fees for the use of Sutherland Shire Council's new Kareela Synthetic Sports Fields will help the council to recover more than $160,800 in costs annually.
The cost recovery will allow the council to maintain and renew the fields.
The proposed summer and winter hire fees will be $29 an hour for schools, $70 an hour one-off booking for community clubs and associations, $60 an hour for seasonal block bookings for community clubs, and $150 an hour for commercial hire.
Use of the floodlights will be at cost.
Construction of the Kareela sports fields is expected to be completed by the end of February in time for the winter season.
