ST GEORGE Illawarra Dragons have agreed to release Adam Quinlan from his current playing contract.
Quinlan has joined Parramatta Eels.
Quinlan, 22, made his first grade debut for the Dragons in round nine of the 2013 season and played 25 matches in the top grade.
He played halfback, five-eighth and fullback.
The versatile player has good speed and evasive skills in attack.
"Adam has received in principle an opportunity to join the Eels for at least the remainder of the season," Dragons coach Paul McGregor said.
"We wish him the very best for his future and thank him for his contributions to our club."
Dragons hooker Heath L'Estrange has been named as Quinlan's replacement for the Auckland Nines.
The Dragons and Cronulla Sharks play in the Auckland Nines on Saturday and Sunday.
Benji Marshall is skipper of the Dragons squad, and veteran Sharks player Luke Lewis has been ruled out of the nines with a knee injury.
The Dragons first pre-season clash will be with Souths in the annual Charity Shield game at 7.35pm on Saturday, February 7, at Sydney Olympic Park.
Cronulla Sharks play their opening trial game against Manly on Saturday, February 7, at Pittwater Rugby Park.
