THEY might be competing against each other, but staff at Peakhurst Early Learning Centre are proud to be in it together.
The centre and four of its team were nominated for their achievements in the 2015 Australian Family Early Education and Care Awards.
The awards acknowledge the work and commitment of outstanding leaders and service providers in the community.
Nominees come from a field of varied qualifications across family day and occasional care, kindergarten, early learning and school-age care groups.
They are recognised for improving the well-being of children, increasing inclusive interactions and partnerships with families, and developing programs and ongoing professional learning.
The centre is nominated for service of the year.
Claire Spiteri and Ellen McGuinn were nominated for the educator-of-the-year award.
Cassandra Smith and Rebecca Badman were also nominated for the educator-of-the-year award and the rising-star award.
"Being nominated has provided us as educators a sense of recognition within the community and in the early childhood sector," they said.
"Our passion for working with children is the understanding of how important these early years are.
"This also give us opportunity to continue advocating for the importance of quality education and care for children during their early years."
Nominations close on April 12 before the final on May 6.
