Freight train cleared; no peak hour commuter delays
A broken down freight train at Jannali is no longer expected to affect Friday afternoon commuters on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line.
Earlier on Friday a freight train with mechanical problems led to delays in both directions from Bondi Junction to Waterfall or Cronulla.
Passengers were asked to check indicator boards at stations as stopping patterns changed.
But a Transport for NSW spokeswoman said the freight train had been cleared by mid-afternoon with timetables getting back to normal.
“The situation is getting better already,” the spokeswoman said.
“It is not going to affect peak hour traffic.”
