Margaret Deas thinks nothing of doing squats — 102 today to mark her 102nd birthday on Saturday January 31.
With squats done for the cameras before the scheduled marathon, and squeezing in her normal exercise regime, Margaret was ‘‘on fire’’ before her successful attempt under the guidance of her physiotherapist, John Abd-Mariam.
Mr Abd-Mariam said Margaret had done 130 squats previously.
‘‘Her inspiration is to help the Australian Wildlife Society,’’ he said.
Mrs Deas — a resident of the Thomas Holt Sans retirement village, Sans Souci Gardens — said she was happy to be raising money for the society.
