McCabe century
CRICKET: St George first grade slipped to 13th on the Sydney premiership table when thrashed by Campbelltown Camden on the weekend at Hurstville Oval. Saints were dismissed for just 93 off 36 overs in their first innings on Saturday and the Ghosts reached 272. Batting a second time, Saints were 2-172 in their second innings on Sunday, with opener Stewart McCabe making an unbeaten 104.

FOOTBALL: Sutherland Shire Football Association clubs are recruiting players, coaches and officials for the 2015 season.
Winter is coming
NETBALL: St George District Netball Association’s 2015 winter season starts on Saturday, March 7. The association has 11 clubs: Arncliffe Scots, Hurstville United, Kardinia, Kites, Kyle Bay, Oatley RSL, Ramsgate RSL, Rockdale, St Ursula’s/Fatima, Titans, Tu Kaha.
Maso Cup
FOOTBALL: Rockdale City Suns won the annual Maso Cup 4-0 over Bankstown City Lions. The Suns, along with Sutherland Sharks are now playing in the Football NSW Preseason Cup.
Half centuries
CRICKET: Sutherland first grade cricket team lost to the University of NSW by 22 runs on the first innings in their two-day game on Saturday and Sunday at Glenn McGrath Oval. UNSW made 285 and Sutherland scored 263. Opener Chris Williams made 61 and Matthew Hughston scored 56.
Horne seals deal
RUGBY UNION: Southern Districts Rugby Union Club winger Rob Horne has signed a new two-year-deal with the Australian Rugby Union. Horne, 25, of Oatley, rejected overseas offers and will remain with the NSW Waratahs in the Super Rugby competition until the end of 2017. Horne has played 22 Tests for the Wallabies.
