CRONULLA-Sutherland Junior Rugby League's season kick-off will be on Sunday, April 12.
And during February and March the clubs in the junior league begin training and get on the recruitment trail for players and coaches.
The off-seasons go faster than Sharks fullback Michael Gordon can scoot down the touchline.
"Before you know it the season is upon you," Cronulla Sutherland Junior Rugby League secretary Judd O'Shea said.
"Last season was a good one for the code in the Sutherland Shire and we want to keep building upon it.
"We have 14 clubs, and last year had 4500 registered players in all age groups, but you can't rest on your laurels.
"There's a lot of hard work put in by people who volunteer their time in many roles as officials, coaches, managers and club committee members for players, and they make the junior league what it is."
O'Shea said he was pleased to see steady growth in player numbers in recent years across all clubs and the age groups in junior and senior age teams.
One club that has steadily built up in recent years is Taren Point Titans.
The club's players sport the white jersey with the bid red "V".
Titans president Simone Osfield, one of the junior league's hardest and most dedicated workers, said they hoped the club continued to expand.
It has started player registrations, and holds its next lot between 2pm and 4pm on Saturday, February 7, and Saturday, February 14, at Gwawley Park, Taren Point.
"We are offering free registration for all of our under 6s and all new junior players who join the Titans from under 6s to under 16s," Osfield said.
"We are also trying to get an A grade and even an A grade reserve team up and running in 2015."
