St George Illawarra Dragons have named their World Club Series squad for the game against Warrington Wolves on Saturday at 7am (Sydney time).
The clash is at Halliwell Jones Stadium.
The Harry Bath Trophy will be awarded to the man of the match, in recognition of the late Harry Bath who played and coached with St George and spent nine years playing for Warrington in the British competition.
Coach Paul McGregor said ‘‘We have had a good week of training and our boys are ready to go.’’
The late Bath played 346 matches in a nine-year spell at Warrington, earning the heritage number 493.
Bath scored 90 tries and kicked 812 goals and won two Challenge Cup medals and two Championship winners’ medals with Warrington.
He returned to Australia in 1957 and joined St George, playing 60 games in three seasons winning the premiership each time.
Bath retired after the 1959 grand final, in which he was sent off, to pursue a career in coaching.
He returned to St George to take his young side dubbed ‘Bath’s Babes’, to a premiership in 1977 and the Dragons won the grand final again under Bath in 1979.
Bath passed away in 2008, age 83.
The squad for tomorrow’s game is: Euan Aitken, Leeson Ah Mau, Ben Creagh (c), Jack de Belin, Josh Dugan, Dylan Farrell, Tyson Frizell, Heath L’Estrange, Jake Marketo, Benji Marshall, Trent Merrin, Eto Nabuli, Dane Nielsen, Jason Nightingale, Rory O’Brien, Mitch Rein, George Rose, Joel Thompson, Gareth Widdop.
