Not unexpectedly, my cynicism often flares whenever governments inject large, long-overdue cures into terminal electorates on the eve of an election — after decades of triage, Band-aid and palliative treatment or when steps are afoot to massively and rapidly expand the district's population. However, one learns never to look a gift hospital in the infirmary, whatever the ultimate price.
