Queensland Origin star and in-demand Manly half back Daly Cherry-Evans was seen meeting Cronulla Shark’s officials on Monday afternoon, sparking more speculation about the 26-year old’s NRL future.
News Limited and Fox Sports reported they had exclusive footage of the Test and Origin star entering Sharks Leagues Club, just a week after he was seen on the Gold Coast.
Titans are believed to have offered Cherry-Evans a three-year deal worth $3 million.
The Leader's back page Sport on Tuesday reports that Ben Barba’s unexpected recruitment to Sharks may be the bait that helps lure his former Mackay teammate Cherry-Evans, to the club in 2016.
The Sharks will not confirm officially that they are making an offer to Cherry-Evans, which other media has speculated as being about $2.5 million.
Sharks chairman Damian Keogh told the Leader the club is interested.
