CON Matheos is at the end of his tether about the block next door to his Beverly Hills home.
He has complained to Hurstville Council several times but nothing has been done about the mess which he believes is getting out of hand.
And he has complained to Sydney Water about the seepage on the nature strip, probably caused by pipes being cracked by tree roots.
Mr Matheos said the block, on the corner of Stoney Creek Road and Central Street, has been used as somewhat of a dump, with builders' rubble, timber, old sheets of galvanised iron, gravel and mulch scattered between the trees.
He believes some of the trees could be affected by termites.
Mr Matheos also fears the block is a breeding ground for rats and mice.
Even when the block had a house on it it was trouble for the neighbourhood.
"The house was unoccupied for 25 years and junkies used to shoot up in there," Mr Matheos said.
"It was demolished about a year ago and now the block is a health hazard.
"We just want someone to clean it up, to get the rubbish out — we are not asking for too much."
A Hurstville Council spokeswoman said the council had inspected the property and had issued a notice of intention to clean up the site.
"The owner has 28 days to comply with the notice otherwise council will issue a fine to the property owners," the spokeswoman said.
A Sydney Water spokesman said that there appeared to be nothing in the system about leakage on either Central Road or Stoney Creek Road for the past few years.
"There was a job that was attended to in 2011 where we replaced a leaking valve on Stoney Creek Road," he said.
"Sydney Water is looking into it."
