Migrant aid cut sad
Scott Morrison's bureaucratic explanation (Your View, February 19) for the cut in Gymea Community Aid's funding did not address which organisation will provide services for migrants living in Sutherland Shire.
Gymea Community Aid has been working in the shire for years and is well connected with the community.
These connections are vital for integrating migrants, and for drawing on a pool of caring and enthusiastic local volunteers.
Now, a new organisation, perhaps outside the shire and without any of these established relationships, will assume these services.
Is this really likely to lead to more effective and efficient outcomes?
Mr Morrison, please let us know who will be providing the new service, and why service will be improved.
