SUTHERLAND Shire residents will not have to search too far to refill their water bottles next summer.
Sutherland Shire Council has agreed to install filtered water stations in each ward as part of the 2015-16 infrastructure budget.
The council installed one of the filtered water stations as a trial in Cronulla Park in February last year.
Following favourable comments from residents, the council decided to install the stations Sutherland Shire Centenary Park (B Ward), Como Pleasure Grounds (C Ward), Cooper Street Reserve (D Ward) and Parc Menai (E Ward).
All are regional parks with playground and picnic facilities and are popular with families.
Each station costs an estimated $350 a year to operate.
The exact site of the water stations in each park will be decided once funding becomes available.
