THERE are two games left for St George and Sutherland firsts to stake their claims for the Sydney Cricket Association finals.
Sixth-placed Sutherland, on 42 points, play Randwick Petersham on Saturday at Glenn McGrath Oval, Caringbah.
Sutherland had wins in first, second, third and fourth grades against Gordon last weekend.
Matt Hughston was in superb form in first grade, hammering 126 in the team's five-wicket win over Gordon at Chatswood Oval.
Saints play Fairfield Liverpool on Saturday at Hurstville Oval.
Play starts at 10am at both venues and they are one-day games.
Saints skipper Trent Copeland, who returned to bowling last weekend in the win over North Sydney, took 3-28 and scored 57 with the bat.
A back injury has prevented the NSW cricketer from bowling for almost the entire season.
Copeland has scored 328 runs at 29.8 this season, including three half centuries.
St George Cricket Club president Kevin Greene said the reality is the team has to keep winning.
"We have to win both our remaining games," Greene said.
"It's good to see Trent return to bowling, and he has batted well."
How will St George and Sutherland go in the penultimate round before the cricket finals?
