A US music label has forced a YouTube video of NSW Premier Mike Baird reading his Twitter hate mail to be taken offline, citing "copyright claims" .
Mr Baird showed his comic side on Thursday by mimicking US talk show host Jimmy Kimmel's popular videos.
The Premier tweeted a video of himself reading his mean tweets while Everybody Hurts by R.E.M. and Shake it Off by Taylor Swift were playing in the background.
Warner Chappell owns R.E.M's music, although Swift is signed on to the Big Machine Label Group.
Mr Baird said his daughters were Swift fans and they had given him sage Swift advice about trolling: just shake it off.
One tweet said: "Mike Baird, I knew you were in Newcastle yesterday coz I could smell the stench of sulfur coming from your pitchfork from over 10 miles away".
Mr Baird has taken to Twitter to respond, comically, to the video removal.
Mean tweets video removed. Working with YouTube and Warner to resolve. Fact: everybody hurts, sometimes. — Mike Baird (@mikebairdMP)

But the move only served to illicit more mean tweets.

Former Department of Immigration spin doctor Sandi Logan, who attracted controversy for his controversial social media engagement on Twitter, also aired his views.
@mikebairdMP Surprised you didn't know other people's intellectual property (ie, music) has copyright protection, & hence you need clearance — Sandi Logan (@SandiHLogan)

Warner Chappell has declined to comment.
Big Machine Label Group, based in Nashville, has been approached for comment.
