A Revesby man, 28, will appear in Bankstown Court today on charges of stealing dozens of mail items.
St George police went to a Bexley hotel on Tuesday after the manager found mail with various names in a room.
Police seized dozens of letters, skeleton keys, a television and clothing.
At least 164 people were identified as victims of the thefts between last August and February.
Suburbs targeted included Carlton, Coogee, Blakehurst, Homebush, Marrickville, Alexandria, Mona Vale, Artarmon, Kogarah, Strathfield, Oatley, Peakhurst, Chipping Norton, Bexley, Wolli Creek, Riverwood, Penshurst, Sylvania, Kingsford, Drummoyne and Hurstville.
Police arrested a Revesby man, 28, at his home overnight and charged him with two counts of having suspected stolen goods on premises and multiple counts of possessing identification information to commit and commission an indictable offence.
