March 1 heralds the start of autumn in Australia but people could be forgiven for thinking the weather hit pause on summer on Sunday.
Sydneysiders flocked to the water to cool off during a maximum temperature of 36 degrees, with the mercury hitting 35 at Campbelltown and 38 at Richmond.
